Since the late 1970's, William Green has been a theater performer, creator and collaborator. He has worked with The Polish Lab Theater, The Actors Studio and Visible Theatre, collaborating on plays ranging from classic to contemporary. In the 80's, William was a founding member of the esteemed Cactus Theater in Chicago. He has worked in Off Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, film and television. Having performed in a wide range of work, from Shakespeare to Neil Simon, from Beckett to Law and Order, some of William’s favorite projects have been original works. He is a core member of The Lonely Painter Project, with whom he has performed as an actor-creator in The Bet, Inhume, The Optics of Dying Light, The Last Leaf, and the Everyday Africa workshop. His heart is in collaboration, working with others to see a piece from conception through development to performance. William holds an MFA from the New School of Drama. He is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio.
